This is the story of George!

Patron Saint of Soldiers and the Military;

George’s story took place long ago. George was born in the 3rd Century and was a soldier in the Emperor’s Army. He is said to have been a dragon slayer and his medal shows him defeating the beast. Here is one account of how he did it: George was arriving in town when he learned that there was a dragon that was living on human flesh. The townspeople would have a lottery each year to see who would be sacrificed to feed the dragon. When George arrived in town, he learned that the King’s daughter, a beautiful Princess, had drawn the short straw and would soon be sacrificed. George went to the outskirts of town and confronted the dragon. He ultimately tamed the dragon and supposedly brought it back to town harnessed by the Princess’s girdle! It is said that George later married the Princess! He also had the townspeople convert to Christianity – 15,000 people were baptized in one day! George has been popular with the English people and also with soldiers. He is known to be invoked against the STD, syphilis. Pray to Saint George when confronted by monsters. They may wind up tamed easier than you thought! @2000
