Saint Ferdinand III of Castille. King Ferdinand was a committed family man with 10 children. Although Ferdinand was a stern leader who held people responsible for their actions, he was kind and loving in his personal life. He founded Universities and converted what was known as the Great Mosque in Seville into a Cathedral.  He was devoted in his religious life and was particularly reverent toward the Blessed Virgin Mary. He was a reformer and an excellent administrator. As a Ruler he was known to be forgiving and pardoned many, even those who disagreed with him about his decisions. He was just and fair, respectfully accepting that others had different opinions and not necessarily wrong about their beliefs, even at odds with his own. He worked with a fair conscience. Miracles have been reported from his tomb in Seville, Spain! Patron Saint of Engineers, Leaders and Dedicated Families. Miracle Worker.
