GREAT NEWS ABOUT ARCHBISHOP SHAW SCHOOLS
IN MARRERO, LOUISIANA

We will be writing more about this in future newsletters ….

We received a call from Father Steve Ryan at Arch Bishop Shaw High School who told us about the Saintly Role Models his school is now utilizing in education.

Arch Bishop Shaw has began sharing the lives of saints from the Salesion Order. Shaw designates one Saint (OK, some of them are not officially saints yet).  Including in their teaching method are inspirations from:

  1.  BLESSED PIER GIORGIO FRASSATI, instilling service and calls to action, and at his future canonization, perhaps a patron of hikers and mountain climbing;

  1. SAINT DOMINIC SAVIO, a famous student of Saint John Don Bosco, and the Patron of Altar Boys;

  1. BLESSED CARLO ACUTIS, A newly beatified teenager and a proposed Patron of Marian Devotions, and

  1. SAINT FRANCIS DE SALES, the gentleman bishop with practical spirituality and the Patron of Writers

ALL FOLLOW THE EXAMPLE OF SAINT JOHN DON BOSCO, Patron of Publishers and a leader of the Salesian Order.

TESTIMONIAL

Those vintage saint medals and prayer cards we sent out seem to be arriving. We were happy to receive the following letter yesterday and asked Janet Affolter from Baton Rouge if we could share her note:

    WE HAVE A NEW COORDINATOR FOR OUR
    NEWSLETTER EMAILING LIST

    Melissa Daigle will be helping us get the E Mail Newsletter Address List back together. It had been faltering since Sharon passed away. Thank you, Melissa, for helping us with the project that never ends! Once you’re finished with cleaning and  updating that address book, maybe you can help us with the “Who’s Your Saint Quiz.” We are almost up-to-date with the quizzes again, though there is a patch of quiz answers we neglected. Fortunately, we have decided to answer the quizzes as soon as they arrive and then “catch up” with the others as soon as we can. So, if you take the “Who’s Your Saint Quiz” we will send a suggestion to you right away!

    Thanks for reading to the bottom line!
