Today, we celebrate Saint Gerard Majella, our patron who helps parents or guardians or babysitters survive the “Terrible Twos” or even perhaps the “Threenagers”, when children seem to be constantly in ten places at one time. Saint Gerard helps to make those times a bit more manageable.
One of the amazing things about Saint Gerard is that he was bilocational, meaning he could be in two places at one time. Wouldn’t we all love to have that skill? And can you imagine a multitasker being bilocational? “Oh! The Places They Would Go!” (With homage to Theodore Geisel, better known as “Dr. Suess,” the brilliant writer of the stories we all know and love).
P.S. If you look closely at our hand-painted design of Saint Gerard you will see that we painted over the skull sitting on his desk. It just didn’t fit in with our theme, so away it went with the stroke of a brush. We’re not bound by the Vatican’s descriptions. Our designs are all about HOPE, not martyrdom.
