Claudia Benevento Drops By and Saint Teresa of Calcutta Drops By During the Visit!

TRUTH .... Stranger Than Fiction Once Again!

OK, so Mother Teresa, the Patron Saint of the Gutter Arrived Here Yesterday. Of course, she didn’t actually, but please follow this story ….

A woman, Claudia Benevento, from Uptown New Orleans, texted yesterday. She was looking for Saint Teresa of Calcutta, Saint Maria Goretti, and Saint Ann. All of those saints were ready, so we invited Claudia to drop by to pick up her medals. She picked the sterling silvers necklaces and as I was printing the stories of Saint Maria, Ann, and Mother Teresa, I lost the Saint Teresa story entirely. I deleted it accidentally.

I talked with Claudia and gave her Saint Teresa cards I bought when I went to her canonization at the Vatican in Rome with my friends Mitchell, Gene and Rick. I explained I deleted the story of Saint Teresa and Claudia replied, “That’s OK, do you have time? I have a story about Mother Teresa.” I said, “Yes, I’m happy to listen.”

It was 1995 and Claudia’s Mother-in-Law Janet had lost her sight in one eye. Doctors had trouble treating her and finally they offered an experimental treatment that might bring back some vision. Janet wasn’t sure what to do but she talked with Claudia’s husband, her son, Joe and he talked her into trying the new surgery.

She went to a hospital on Long Island and had the procedure completed. On her way back to their home in Garden City they saw a Van of Nuns on the Parkway. Janet looked out and met eyes with a Nun who offered her the Sign of the Cross. A short while later, Janet’s vision came back completely and everyone was happy for Janet’s vision recovery.

And then more news came out! Pictures of Mother Teresa were released and there she was, the woman in the van, who saw Janet, and offered the Sign of the Cross. To this day, the Benevento Family remain convinced that Mother Teresa interceded and brought back Janet’s vision. Saint Teresa of Calcutta is well-known as a Miracle Worker. I’m so glad I lost my original story of Saint Teresa of Calcutta. The new story of Mother Teresa traveling on the Long Island Expressway is a great new tale to share.

I Believe in Miracles

P.S. Claudia is coming to the SaintsforSinners Studio next week to try painting our saint medals. Something tells me she’ll be painting Saint Teresa of Calcutta in lovely blues and whites!
