FRANCO’s LATEST DESIGN! NOTES FROM VENASQUE + MEN OF LETTERS & GARY ALIPIO’S EXCITING BOOK RELEASE!

Hello Everyone!

OUR FRIEND GARY ALIPIO’S BOOK HAS BEEN RELEASED!

Our friend Gary Alipio has released another book, “The Craziest Fishing Tale on the Bayou.” The story was written for middle schoolers, ages 8 – 12. That’s perfect for me since one of my favorite books is “Tuck Everlasting,” also for that age group. In Gary’s “Craziest Fishing Tale,” a Grandfather and a Grandson enter a Fishing Rodeo. Whether they win is unknown to me. I bought the book but it’s waiting for me at home in New Orleans. Congratulations, Gary! You’re a man of letters!

For those of you in New Orleans, our friend Gary Alipio will be at Barnes & Noble Bookstore on Veterans Boulevard. He is releasing his new book.

We are still getting accustomed to Venasque and will be here until early September. If you’d like me to send a postcard, reply and send me your address and I’ll get one out to you. If it gets too expensive, I’ll stop sending, but I’d love to sit and enjoy a cup of espresso and send some cards out. It’s fun.

It seems we are losing the art of hand-written correspondence. Men and Angels of letters, like saint John Henry Newman, and Arch Angel Gabriel the Messenger, were and are great communicators. I’d like to write a bit, with my own hand, and ask for their intercession while jotting notes on postcards from abroad. I guess that’s the nerdy English major in me...

I am loving living in France for a while. As many of you know, my breathing and speaking difficulties are severe yet this cool dry weather helps me persevere. It’s wonderful I have a niece, Casey, who can step up and handle the day-to-day orders from people like you and retailers as well.

When I return to New Orleans, I’ll be sending out Our Lady of the Assumption medals out as lagniappe gifts. Since the festival did not happen, hand-painted Our Lady of the Assumption medals are abundant these days!

Franco has created beautiful new hand-painted medals of the United Hearts of Jesus and Mary. They are available to order now, but they will not be mailed until I get back home to New Orleans. I’m going to add some sort of trinket from Rome to these orders. I am going to Rome for a few days next week.

There have been so many opportunities to buy antique saint medals so I will be figuring out a way to offer the ones that I have bought, to you. I’ve bought so many while here. They must be shared so they can communicate in their thoughtful ways. Look forward to seeing those medals this November, maybe starting on All Saints Day, November 1st

Thanks for reading to the bottom line!
