French Postcards were sent from Paris
WE SENT OUT ALL OF THE POSTCARDS FROM THE LEDGE OF PARIS MONDAY NIGHT, SO SURELY THEY ARE ON THEIR WAY TO YOU BY NOW!
Those cards were all hand-written by me and are from the various towns and villages in Provence we visited, or, from Venasque, where we stayed. I hope you like the messages. Some of the cards were over 100 years old. I found them in Brocantes and although the merchants were seemingly giving them away, I thought every one was a treasure!
At one of the markets, I saw these beautifully drawn cards in near-perfect condition. There were drawings of birds and other animals and I wanted to buy all of them. Except they were $ 2 Euros each, so I was planning to buy just a few. The man selling the cards kept pointing and signaling "two" to me in French, "deux." I don't know a lot of French yet, but I do know deux!
Why was he telling me "Deux" and waving his arms around so much? I had no idea. Then ("alors") I finally understood that he was saying I could have all of the cards for deux Euros, total! So, I bought them all!
If you would like a couple of these French cards, simply send a SASE (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope) to me and I will send a few to you. It will be fun sending them all over the country.
I'll be posting some pictures of the cards and renewing this offer very soon. For now, though, I'm just writing something quick because the city of New Orleans is soaked and the electricity keeps going off and on, so I want to email right away.
We had such a great time in France. I'll be writing more about it soon. Thanks for reading to the bottom line. Check back again for more details.
