It's the 3rd Day of Lent and we've been busy creating new designs. Above, you will see the handiwork of our crafter, Mark, who has gotten very colorful with hand-painting the Sacred Heart of Jesus medals. It's all very time-consuming but we are planning to add every color imaginable to this collection! The medals are so bright and vibrant; the photograph seems to pale Mark's amazing creativity!

We will be working at the Gretna Art Walk on Huey P. Long on the West Bank of New Orleans tomorrow. Come see our new and beautiful renderings!

Above you will see the photograph of the correspondence we received from John Simpson from Illinois that we wrote about previously. We are already working on touching up his Fleur de Lis. We can't wait to send a new version of the medal and replace that chain he has been wearing for 17 years. This time, we will send a sterling silver ball/bead necklace and let it last longer.

You must be wondering why we added the book by Stendhal, "Armance." Rest assured we will be explaining it during the 40 days of Lent. It's a French Classic and a love story from 1827. It asks a poignant question and one only you have the answer to and no answer is incorrect. Stay tuned....

The medals we have sent out this Lenten Sesson have surprised us quite a bit. The Good Shepard, Pope Francis I, and the Pectoral Cross have been the most popular thus far. On Easter Sunday I'll share our Top 10.

The vintage Miraculous Medals we offered to you SOLD OUT in record. time. Within the next few days, we will offer some of the other vintage medals we have collected. We look forward to sharing the medals with you and at discount prices. We noticed that others from Etsy and Ebay are selling the same medals at extraordinary prices, which is understandable because they are vintage and antique and truly one-of-a-kind like our hand-painted medals. However, since we travel to France and Rome very year, we are able to offer discount prices because our supply is greater than most, since we can replenish year after year.

As most of you know, we will be traveling to Rome for the Canonization of Carlo Acutis in late April. We can't wait to see what medals and fresh designs we will find in Rome. Blessed Carlo is one of our favorites. He'll be known as the patron Saint of Computer Programmer but we refer to him as a Patron of youthful cheerfulness too because, although he died while he was barely a teenager, his kind spirit never wavered. He was a devout boy, to be sure, but he was also an ordinary kid. He loved Play Station, Nike, Adidas, riding his bike and caring for his pets, dogs, cats and other animals as well. When we paint his medal, you'll note that we add the Nike "Swoosh to his tee shirt. Many photos depict Carlo wearing Levisa and other clothes that most of the kids wear from his generation. He's going to be the first Millennial Saint!

For those of you who have been reading these Newsletters for years, you know we always send a gift from Rome to those of you who take the time to send us a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope. It's our little way to share our experience with you. So, start sending those in! Our friend Rosemary from Ohio already sent in a note and a check to help defray costs (thank you Rosemary - and thanks for the beautiful poem too - we will be publishing it soon.) Rosemary has been a loyal friend for decades and I look forward to the day when I can officially meet her!

One of my favorite stories (I'm sure I'm repeating) is about another loyal friend whom we actually did meet! Her name is Valerie L. and she is from Canada. One day she called to say she was in New Orleans and she dropped by to say hello. What a wonderful meeting that was. Except, I'm not sure she came to meet me, I think she actually wanted to meet and pet my dog Dusty, my favorite dog who I took everywhere, and wrote about often. I cherish the time when I was lucky enough to have her in my life. Val loved Dusty as much as I did and she wound up coming to visit us not once but twice! Precious moments I will never forget. (Hi Val!)

That's it for this Lenten Letter. I can see I am starting to ramble, so it's time to draw this note to a close. Thanks for your kind notes. I read every single one and I try to personally reply to every note and every "Who's Your Saint Quiz." Thanks for your encouragement. Thanks for your loyalty.

And, thanks for reading these rambling notes that prattle on too long!
