The story of Saint Martha of Bethany is one we often repeat, because it is so easy to understand yet also very broad and all encompassing. Since we seem to write about Saint Martha often, I’ll repeat some of the message we offered about her in 2022: Martha and her sister, Mary, and brother, Lazarus, lived in Bethany. Lazarus was friends with Jesus so he would often invite Jesus over for a bite to eat. This was wonderful for Jesus because Martha was a great cook, and always actively coming up with the new recipes and ideas for “breaking bread” at the table.

There's hope Venerable Matt Talbot will be canonized soon. So many alcoholics, their families, friends and neighbors would reap great reward if the Pope would just recognize that curing someone in the throes of the disease, Alcoholism, is just as significant as another person attaining canonization for their disease being cured by intercession.

Our SaintsforSinners / SaintsforHope Instagram project, “Celebrating the 100 Year Anniversary of Philosopher Marcel Proust’s Life” has been inspiring. We are offering our very unique hand painted 4" Pectoral Cross of Pope Francis for $25.00. The medal is 3 or 4 times as big as the typical medals. It has Jesus tending to the sheep with one draped over his shoulder. And usually, in the sea of white sheep we’ve painted we put a sheep painted black to represent those marginalized and forgotten. The sheep is “smack dab in the middle,” in the flock just like the rest of us. It’s a very cool medal but it’s big!

The cards are obviously quite unique and it’s fun to show them to people who appreciate the cards and notes and dates that people have written on them, some, a century ago. We will begin posting these cards & medals on our social media pages too, so keep looking for updates and even buying opportunities on one of a kind, vintage medals!
