Hello! We’ve completed the new card design. The “greeting card/story” of the saint is much smaller, with all the content intact. The first saints to be mailed in the new design are Rocco, Kevin of Glendalough and Charles Borromeo, our patron invoked against ulcers, stomach disorders and Chrons Disease. In fact, sending  Saint Charles is a bit of a surprise because he doesn’t get out into the world much. We’re happy to send him though since he offers great protections!

Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday - it's the first day of Lent, the 40 day period when we decide to improve ourselves and others, by working harder, trying more, caring about and helping those in need, and in the words of the Jesuits, "seeking peace by working for justice." And then we celebrate Easter and the Resurrection.       One fun way to become involved with Lent is by participating in "Lent Madness'' - www.Lentmadness.org  - Read on to review one of our prior emails about Ash Wednesday, Lenten Vows.     And be sure to watch ESPN's "Around the Horn" where you will see the...

Maybe the box we are sending you is in one of these photos - you asked us to send – all the Saint Valentine's Day Boxes are going out today.

The other boxes will go out tomorrow or Wednesday. I know we asked for an extra week or two - extra time to get the boxes done but we didn’t watch much of the Super Bowl and finished up late last night.

Since a box begs for things to include, we are adding several Hand-Painted Saint Medals, on clasps and on chains. Some of our “love” saints and angels. Plus, the usual prayer cards and lagniappe. We are probably going overboard with the lagniappe this year but it’s intentional.  There’s extra time since Mardi Gras is on hiatus. We are very excited to be sending nearly all of these packages out today, February 6th. There are a couple “Special Requests” that we are going to fulfill and send soon too. We will mail items out tomorrow and Monday too, by Priority Mail.

We have 2 St. Valentine’s day boxes available. Thanks to Mizpah, the Sacred Hearts and red being rob’s favorite color, these boxes practically made themselves (I told rob I need to see a video of this cause I just couldn’t believe it!). If you want to claim one, just order a custom prayer box and put in the notes that you’d like St. Valentine.

You just can’t make this stuff up. Seriously! There’s a whole new Mardi Gras this year. It’s called “YARDI GRAS.” Folks are decorating their homes as though they are Mardi Gras floats. The family a few blocks away have made a float about the show, “Schitt’s Creek.”

Thanks for the responses from the Newsletter we sent out the other day. Some of the notes were very moving and very much appreciated.

A few more chapters of the book rob is working on have finally been finished and he has created a nice outline that’s possible to follow and begin moving further toward completion. So far, the stories of Saint Bernard, Saint Rosalie, along with Saint Maria Goretti, Dismas and the Miraculous Medal have weaved together fairly seamlessly. We offer thanks to the weaver’s saint, Anastasia, for helping us band anecdotes, undo knots, connect dots and whatnot to recall a simple story of a simple life. Again, with hopefulness and catharsis themed in a way that’s all kinds of exciting! Easy? No. Exciting? Yes!

With that notion in mind, if any of you would like us to send a hand-painted saint medal package to someone as a gift, please let us know and we will try our best. Let us know the place to send and give us an idea about the person so we can pick an appropriate medal. It should make it in time for Christmas. We will send it by PRIORITY MAIL.

Yes, yesterday, December 15, was the bizarre deadline date, according to the USPS. This makes no sense whatsoever because Christmas is on Friday, December 25th. So, if you count, that means there are 8 “travel days” for mail (actually 9 because mail does move on Sunday, it just does not get delivered) and so that is still a lot of time to get packages mailed and delivered before Christmas.

OK, this is a bit surreal but very nice. People have asked us lots of questions about the Misfit Medal Crosses we are designing! When a medal does not turn out excellent, which is way more frequent than we like, we set these “Misfit Medals” aside. One day we were painting the crosses that we use to attach the Flood Medal Crosses we offer and started using some of the Misfit Medals. People loved them! Now, we have started selling, at a discount price to cover expenses, and raise awareness about SaintsforSinners. And the Misfit Medal Crosses have become popular. WHO KNEW!

Think about Saint Joseph this year. He will surely be a  referred to often, now that Pope Francis has made him "Saint of the Year." And now, you have a bit of cocktail party talk to share, six feet away, of course, with your friends, neighbors, family, and all those you encounter during the year.  The less celebrated ordinary people who, often unnoticed, may be a bit more “limelighted” this year than years before. As they should, every year.

We will be thrilled to post a photograph of all of us with the Grammy Award after The New Orleans Nightcrawlers win! What an ATMOSPHERE for y'all to see! So …. if you are a musician, if you know any musicians, or if anyone you know knows a musician, have them listen to Atmosphere. Once they do, they will vote for Craig, our lifelong friend and loyal supporter of SaintsforSinners.
