    Saint Alphonsus, a Redemptorist, is a patron of those suffering with arthritic pain and other aches and bone pains and is also the patron saint of writers and teachers. A miracle worker, Saint Alphonsus was a contemporary of musicians Bach and Handel and was well known as a poet, musician, and composer of chorales, hymns, and carols.
