Hey, Did You Happen to See …. Message in a Bottle: FREE MEDALS & EARTH DAY
HEY, DID YOU HAPPEN TO SEE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL AT THE Lafreniere Farmers Art Market
We wrote about Ja’laun last week and said we’d try and share a photo. That's her, enjoying a popsicle and perusing our medals. Her Mom and Rob had a nice talk, and we will be telling you more about Ja’laun in a future newsletter. Oh! Ja'laun is 6, not 8! Stay tuned to find out about Ja'laun's amazing accomplishments.
MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE
I’m sure most of you have heard or read the story about the lady who found the bottle with a message inside (and twenty dollars).
The facts about that message are definitely worth repeating. A young man died in a car accident because he was texting. Driving and Texting are a Deadly Combo.
That was 5 years ago. At his funeral, the family created a Memorial of sorts by writing a message in a bottle and throwing in into the sea.
A lady found it recently! She opened the note inside and was told to go have a beverage to remember their son. And, it helps raise awareness about the dangers of texting while driving.
That story made us think about car accidents, safety, traveling and texting. So, Our Lady of the Highway came to mind. Our Lady protects people traveling on roads and highways.
We have decided to send a FREE Our Lady of the Highway hand-painted saint medal on a clasp with new orders that come in, while our supply lasts. The clasp will fit on a keychain very easily and will probably lie next to car keys, also on the keychain.
Please take the clasped medal and tell the story of the man dead from texting. Give the medal to someone who texts and drives. Or, if you text and drive, put the medal on your keychain.
Our Lady of the Highway may curtail the habit of one person who texts and drives. So, in a sense, Our Lady of the Highway has already had her Mission Accomplished by promoting good driving habits.
If you would like an almost completely FREE Our Lady of the Highway Medal on a clasp, just send us a Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope ( SASE ) and we will mail one to you.
Saint Christopher is also a saint invoked for safe travel. We will be delving deeper into the story and message of Saint Christopher in future weeks.
Our Lady of Loreto is the Blessed Virgin Mary to turn to when embarking on a flight and seeking safety while traveling by plane, helicopter, or hot air balloon.
We missed out on mentioning Earth Day and Saint Francis of Assisi, patron of peace and author of the Canticle of the Creatures.
Most high, all powerful, all good Lord!
All praise is Yours, all glory, all honor, and all blessing.
To You, alone, Most High, do they belong.
No mortal lips are worthy to pronounce Your name.
Be praised, my Lord, through all Your creatures,
especially through my lord Brother Sun,
who brings the day; and You give light through him.
And he is beautiful and radiant in all his splendor!
Of You, Most High, he bears the likeness.
Be praised, my Lord, through Sister Moon and the stars;
in the heavens You have made them bright, precious and beautiful.
Be praised, my Lord, through Brothers Wind and Air,
and clouds and storms, and all the weather,
through which You give Your creatures sustenance.
Be praised, my Lord, through Sister Water;
she is very useful, and humble, and precious, and pure.
Be praised, my Lord, through Brother Fire,
through whom You brighten the night.
He is beautiful and cheerful, and powerful and strong.
Be praised, my Lord, through our sister Mother Earth,
who feeds us and rules us,
and produces various fruits with colored flowers and herbs.
Be praised, my Lord, through those who forgive for love of You;
through those who endure sickness and trial.
Happy those who endure in peace,
for by You, Most High, they will be crowned.
Be praised, my Lord, through our sister Bodily Death,
from whose embrace no living person can escape.
Woe to those who die in mortal sin!
