And now, you have a bit of cocktail party talk to share, six feet away, of course, with your friends, neighbors, family, and all those you encounter during the year.  The less celebrated ordinary people who, often unnoticed, may be a bit more “limelighted” this year than years before. Many years ago, in 2005 or 2006, after our studio was destroyed because of Hurricane Katrina, we were "displaced nomads" for a year and living near Mother Cabrini High School. We were painting the medals in a tiny apartment on Harding Drive.

We have been working on the 100th Anniversary Our Lady of Fatima medals and JP2 – the Saint John Paul II medals we found in Rome while we were there for his canonization. We’re very happy with the end result!

For the 4th of July Weekend we are doing something different! Long ago, some of you will remember we were selling “ThaItalian” Sterling Silver Bracelets covered with our hand-painted saint medals. We stopped doing it when we ran out of the sterling silver because when we went to re-order, it was obvious we could not sell the bracelets with lots of our hand-painted medals. The prices had increased, and everything put together just made it too expensive. However ….

A bit of an Update Regarding COVID19, it seems the various communities have come to a consensus that Saint Rock/Roch/Rocco is the “Go To” saint to ask for intercession with the pandemic. Most Google searches seem to point to Saint Rocco, as we have done, although we thought San Bernardino of Siena was a nice choice too.

We have been enjoying making the new crosses with the medals we dug up after the flood and also using the medals that just did not quite make it through the creation phase for one reason or another. “THE MISFIT MEDALS” were in a big bin with nowhere to go because they are blemished in some way but we could not ever throw them away….

Some have asked us to find more of the smaller medals, and we can now say we have found several different styles of the tiny medals (see above image), including: Saint Anthony, The Holy Spirit, Saint Christopher, Crosses, The Miraculous Medal, Infant Baby Jesus, and others that have not yet arrived.
