New Prayer Boxes, Gratitude Boxes, Walt Whitman’s “Song of Myself”

New Prayer Boxes, Gratitude Boxes, Walt Whitman’s “Song of Myself”

Hi Everyone –

We actually still do have more of our hand-painted boxes ready. And if you ordered yesterday and you already said “Surprise Me,” we will and are definitely going to surprise you with:

Our Hand-Painted and Decorated Prayer Box, although some are calling it the Gratitude Box. Maybe it’s a place to keep a favorite token, medal, necklace, poem, or any certain something that offers reflection, hope or is maybe a nice heirloom. Or maybe it’s pure and simply, a nice box.

Since a box begs for things to include, we are adding several Hand-Painted Saint Medals, on clasps and on chains. Some of our “love” saints and angels. Plus, the usual prayer cards and lagniappe. We are probably going overboard with the lagniappe this year but it’s intentional.  There’s extra time since Mardi Gras is on hiatus. We are very excited to be sending nearly all of these packages out today, February 6th. There are a couple “Special Requests” that we are going to fulfill and send soon too. We will mail items out tomorrow and Monday too, by Priority Mail.

While our best month for sales, the First Place Month, is obviously December, January and February are …. Well, let’s just say they are our 11th and 12th best months for sales.  January always give us a chance to try new things, which is fun. The concoction of the latest “Surprise Boxes” is our best yet.

So, if you would like a unique gift for Saint Valentine’s Day we’ve got you covered.

Happy Saint Valentine’s Day, the patron saint of love! We are reminded of “the things that really matter.” And that always makes me think of my favorite poem about a touch, in the poet Walt Whitman’s Song of Myself:

All truths wait in all things,

They neither hasten their delivery nor resist it,

They do not need the

 obstetric forceps of the surgeon,

The insignificant is as big to me as any,

(What is less or more than a touch?)

We hope you are touched by our hand-painted boxes. Paying it forward, we hope the person receiving it is equally touched by your love and generosity. Let’s try and put the Saint back into Saint Valentine’s Day. Happy Saint Valentine’s Day!
