A miracle worker, Saint Peter was also the first Pope. To this day, the area encompassing the Vatican in Rome is still called “Saint Peter’s Square.” Above the square are 140 statues of saints, surrounding the Vatican. Together, the 140 are known as the Colonnade of Saints protecting Vatican Square.

Today we are celebrating Thomas the Apostle, known by many as “Doubting Thomas.” Thomas was one of the 12 Apostles but was absent during the Resurrection. The other Apostles appeared before him, explained and exclaimed about what they had seen: the Resurrection of Jesus after his Crucifixion on the cross.
