Saint Bridget of Ireland—sometimes referred to as “Brigid of Kildare”—is one of Ireland’s patron saints. Because of her storied travels, Bridget has been designated the patroness of boatmen, travelers, mariners and sailors. And chicken farmers. We do not know why!
